I think people are sometimes surprised at how really good most Christian worship songs are not just at giving God glory but being just good music. I remember hearing Barbara Streisand comment one time about hearing the song "Holy Ground" and she was moved and had never heard such emotional/uplifting song. She liked it so much she make her own version. I was like "every week baby" come listen to Todd Bell and company. I'm stopping now before this turns into a blog post which I should be doing on my own website which I neglect.
I missed Idol, I will need to go back and watch it. That is truly one of my favorite worship songs and I love that the whole world was able to hear it. With an audience like theirs, surely many lives were touched by the worship experience. Way to go Idol for not filtering!

I saw it too and was shocked! We've been watching Idol a few seasons now and there always seems to be at least one contestant that sings a Christian song, but they usually get voted off soon after. Never have I heard them all sing a praise song together. It was great! You're right that we should pray jesus gets the glory.
My jaw hit the floor. I couldn't believe it. And they sang the WHOLE song. I was amazed and prayed the same prayer. WOW!!!
We were amazed as well. I stopped the Tivo and yelled at Matt to come here and see this. My thought the whole time was I wonder who will be moved by this song and make them wonder:)
