The B-17

If you ask Cooper what he wants to be when he grows up, he'll tell you, "A pilot!" This 3-year-old flew on the B-17 airplane pictured below. Josh's 2nd cousin, Melanie, knew of Cooper's love of flying (he's got his own frequent flyer number) and invited Cooper and Josh up to Denton for the opportunity of a lifetime through The Collings Foundation - an organization that supports "living history" events. Melanie told us Cooper is the youngest passenger the group has ever seen. Josh said he was a little timid at first, but Cooper was soon "flying high".....Josh on the other hand was wishing he had taken some Dramamine before the flight:)
Cooper talks about the B-17 almost every day.
A minister today spoke to my Bible study about being "focused" in life. He encouraged us moms to help our kids get "focused" by helping them puruse their passions. Josh and I would be proud to see Cooper flying airplanes one day and we commit to encouraging this dream from a young age. Tonight at dinner Cooper asked Josh if he would like to fly planes with him! I can just see the two of them taking flying lessons together one day ~ Josh will probably try to assure me that he's simply helping Cooper achieve his goals!
