1st Day of "school"

Caroline fed off Cooper's excitement this morning as we prepared for "school"....she was happy - until I dropped her off in her classroom. Cooper on the other hand barely said "Good-bye" to me - He walked right in his classroom, ready for action!

I'll never forget this sweet morning we had together. Cooper helped me dress Caroline by putting one sock on her foot - and how Caroline just watched him with appreciation. Later while in the car, Cooper said, "It's going to be so much fun!"

When their school day was over I went to pick Caroline up first and I just stood and watched my little girl contently coloring (another child's) butterfly picture. She looked 3-years-old rather than almost 2! No nap for her on the first day of school, which I expected.....and she waited about 15 minutes before the meltdown.
Cooper ran to the door smiling - still excited about his day. His teacher said he was a "good helper" and then she asked me if he could read:) I guess he fooled her like he does with Caroline!
We all took late naps that afternoon...
